Davao Life is Here

MOTHER NATURE.

Davao’s source of life and nurturer of mankind. Provider of food and keeper of our animals and forests. She carved the mountains creating multifarious captivating views for us to marvel at and exciting places for adventure and thrill.

With her fertile soils, we grow various crops and vegetation that paint a green landscape embraced by bodies of water. Beneath the surface are amazing creatures waiting to be discovered. We owe a lot to her for giving us a vast land full of life and promises – the promise of abundance which she will always keep, reassuring us that she will be here – today, tomorrow and forever.

Dream Destinations: Egypt

Egypt is one of the most fascinating destinations on the world tourist map. This extra ordinary country is today the favourite vacation spot for many, just like it was in the days of the early Greeks and Romans. The biggest draw continues to be the amazing abundance of historical treasures- temples, pyramids and museums – contained in this one country.

Notable ancient temples, pyramids and tombs

Pyramids of Giza - Cairo

Great Sphinx - Cairo

Nile River - Cairo

Khan El Khalili Bazaar - Cairo

Temple of Karnak - Luxor

Valley of Kings - Luxor

Philae's Temple of Isis

Sham El Sheikh Beach - Aswan

15,000 hits and Counting!!!

Wuuhooo!!! There's nothing else I can say but to THANK YOU ALL for your continued visits!

Budget Travel - Saving Money When You Are At Your Destination

When traveling independently you will almost always do better in terms of price and quality if you veer away from the traditional places to eat and shops that the guide books mention. Going off the beaten track can mean you pick up a real bargain.

Restaurants

Follow the locals; if you head for a tourist orientated restaurant or shop you will find that the prices are substantially higher and often the food is not of the same quality.

Another good tip is to visit the local market where the locals shop. Not only will you get fresh products at good prices but you will also enjoy the experience of mixing with the locals. Ask those around you where to go, after all, it is the locals that are best placed to tell you where to go for a good deal!

A good way of working out whether a restaurant is geared towards tourists or locals is to see when it is at its busiest. Tourists tend to eat a lot earlier than the locals in most foreign countries. Any restaurant that is empty until around 9pm and then fills up is probably frequented by locals.

Calzone @ Picobello

Image and video hosting by TinyPicCalzone - my favorite!
(From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia)
is an Italian turnover made from pizza dough and stuffed with cheese, ham or salami, vegetables, or a variety of other stuffings. It often contains an egg, the yolk of which should be runny. It is typically served with marinara sauce on the side for dipping, or topped with garlic and parsley infused olive oil. The dough is folded over, sealed on one edge, salted, then fried.
In Italian the word has three syllables, [kal'tsone]. Pronunciations of the word in English vary greatly, with UK: /kæl'tso'ni/ or /kæl'zo'ni/,[2] and US: /kælˈzoʊni/, /kælˈzoʊneɪ/, or /kæl'zo'n/.

Align CenterIt has been over a year since i last dined here..
Back in college, this is one of our favorite hang-out..
Not much have changed in the place though...interiors are still the same.. and of course,
the food still tastes superb!

(one thing i just didn't like, is the correigdor/path going to the resto....it's gloomy, dirty & scary) i hope management of Picobello would do something about this. i would hesitate about bringing some friends over to dine, merely for this reason.(nakaka-turn off kasi, it might give some bad impression to your guest.. nagmumukhang cheap tuloy ang resto)..

But never-the-less, Picobello is still one of the best Italian Resto &
serving the best tasting pizzas in Davao!

"the undisputed, King of all Fruits"

Basic infos about Durian

According to Wikipedia, Durian fruit is widely known and revered in southeast Asia as the "king of fruits", it is distinctive for its large size, unique odour, and formidable thorn-covered husk. The fruit can grow as large as 30 centimetres (12 in) long and 15 centimetres (6 in) in diameter, and it typically weighs one to three kilograms (2 to 7 lb). Its shape ranges from oblong to round, the colour of its husk green to brown, and its flesh pale yellow to red, depending on the species.

The edible flesh emits a distinctive odour, strong and penetrating even when the husk is intact. Some people regard the durian as fragrant; others find the aroma overpowering and offensive. The smell evokes reactions from deep appreciation to intense disgust. The odour has led to the fruit's banishment from certain hotels and public transportation in southeast Asia.

Sardinas ug Odong

This is one of my favorite food (ever!).
Had this for dinner last night...and it was really really one good & satisfying meal that completed my day.

Ingredients are basic,simple & very cheap.
Just;
* 1 can sardines (i prefer the hot style)
* 2 stick packs Odong ( this type of noodle is most popular in the Mindanao and Visayas regions; if you can't find Odong, you can use Misua)
* shallots
* garlic
* cooking oil (just a little to sautee the spices)
* salt (to taste)

Sautee the spices & the sardines all toghether, then add the Odong and a little water, salt to taste, simmer,,,and presto! You'll have one big satisfying meal ever!
